Here is an extremely funny article I saw on the news last night. Apparently a manufacturer making royal paraphernalia screwed up a batch of mugs. They printed the beautiful Kate Middleton but instead of Prince William put a picture of Prince Henry on the mug....whoops!! I wonder what the royal family thinks of that?!!

Latest Memorbilia Search
I am now looking for the People Magazine cover dated August 16, 1982 that has Princess Diana and baby Prince William on the cover. I noticed it in another magazine from the 80's and now I can't find it.
I have also started researching my hat designs for my Royal Wedding soiree that I will be planning soon. Do I make a Kate replica or do I fancy needing an original?? The decisions I have to make!! LOL!!
I am so excited to watch the wedding, see her amazing dress and hear the fantastic music. Last week Prince William and Kate were seen sneaking into their wedding venue to hear the final music selections. I enjoy that they have taken such an active part in everything. She will be a breath of fresh air for the Royal Family...didn't we hear that 30 years ago (Feb 24,1981???)

I have to much to update you all about!!
I've been soooo busy with college and life lately that I haven't posted in awhile...please forgive me.
The Today video contest deadline was extended so we are expected to hear about the finalists in the next couple of days. I hope that the finalists have some fantastic videos worthy of a dream trip to London.
In other news on the official wedding site is that fantastic it has the processional route that Kate will take to her wedding. It has pictures of things she will see along the way. I was so excited to see this that I continued my mental planning of my most desired vacation to London. Someday I will get there and see what I have only imagined in my dreams.

Kate Middleton Biography
Recently the official Royal Wedding website (aptly named) has posted the future princess' biography. I just loved reading it and I hope you do to! Most everything was pretty normal but there were some things like the fact that her family moved to Jordan for a couple of years for her dad's work (pre party planning business of course.) Below is the full article...enjoy!!

Princess Diana Memorabilia Hunt
I have recently acquired (for rather cheap) some vintage Time magazines with stories, cover photos and other goodies about Princess Diana dating back to the early '80's. I am so excited as to how great of condition these are in. It totally made my birthday fantastic. My collection is growing and can't wait to add more. Next I have to get 8x10 plastic photo holders which I will use to protect my magazines. This excites me so!!

Buckingham Palace
Here is an excerpt of some specs on Buckingham Palace!
"Buckingham Palace contains 775 rooms. Included in this are 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms."
This would be an absolute dream for me to see! So in order to make a proper go at it I should start saving now so that when I actually have time to go, I will have enough funds!! These virtual tours are fantastic and I am in awe!!

Royal China
So this would be a fabulous addition to my collection: The Official Royal Wedding set. (The link is below.) Each piece is "decorated with a pattern of doves, white ribbons and hearts in silver, gold and grey." It is so beautiful and highly collectible. You can purchase these items if you so choose online at the "Royal Collection’s online shop and Royal Collection shops at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle." Get 'em before they are gone!

Royal Couple Outings
So far Miss Kate has started accompanying Prince William on various outings lately most likely getting geared up for her duties as Princess Catherine.
Their first official engagement was a couple of weeks ago christening the lifeboat 'Hereford Endeavour' at Trearddur Bay, Anglesey. She couldn't break the champagne bottle as usual as it was a inflatable and Prince William got a kick out of that!
They visited the college where they met and they have decided to name a scholarship after them. A years worth of tuition to attend this fabulously old school in Scotland is over $100,000 a year.

Finally....
So finally there is a video of what most people are thinking...will Kate be like Princess Diana? I really wondered when this issue would come to the forefront and I am happy to report that Kate when asked says that no one can fill Princess Diana's shoes and no one is trying to! I look forward to her life as princess and someday maybe queen!
Here is a pretty funny video regarding the royal wedding!

My collection
I submitted photos of some of my Princess Diana collection last week for a contest and thought I would share them here. I will add more at a later date as I am still sifting through my piles of magazines and news clippings. I am obsessed!

Official Website
So the Monarchy has released the official Royal Wedding Website that has information on the wedding day (including the service, processional and the reception) as well as virtual tours of Buckinham Palace! I was so excited to see the photos of the royal palace. It may be the only time I ever get to see the castle!

Bachelor Party
Apparently Prince Harry is planning an all inclusive bachelor party at sea. He is planning a water skiing, jet-skiing, speed boating adventure for his brother, Prince William. Speculation is that he will also plan a "pub crawl" after all the fun in the sun. No one knows where as of late and I really don't think they will let that sort of information out to the public!

5 things to know about the future Queen of England.
Here is what I found out about Kate:
(I took this from the above mentioned website as I couldn't have done it any better!!)
1. At 29, Kate’s going to be the oldest royal bride.
2. She’s allergic to horses—interesting because she’s marrying into the one of the biggest equestrian families.
3. The sheer dress she modeled in a fashion show while at St. Andrews will be worth $160,000 after she marries the prince.
4. William and Kate are 12th cousins once removed. It’s distant, yet true.
5. Forget polo— she’s a tennis girl.

Wedding Invitations
Well 1900 invites have been sent and I haven't recieved mine yet but am still waiting!! They will not name who is attending but have announced that the list tops out at almost 1900 people. The whole scope of the day hasn't been released yet but so far a private close friend and family lunch, bigger dignitary dinner and a close family dinner followed by dancing have been rumored to be happening.
Here are what the invites look like:
Here is the wording. "The Lord Chamberlain is commanded by the Queen to invite [name] to the marriage of his Royal Highness Prince William of Wales KG with Miss Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey on Friday 29 April 2011 at 11.00am."
Dress should include "uniform, morning coat or lounge suit."

Royal Wedding Beer???
My husband is started to brew beer and my sister in law just informed me that Castle Rock Brewery are creating a wedding ale.
They are looking for a couple getting married the same day as the royal couple to help. The new beer will be called Kiss Me Kate and the couple will "mash in" which is a process of adding malted barley to the mix and will be taken out to dinner at a real pub.

Why did they choose April 29, 2011?
Many people have asked why William and Kate chose April 29th as their wedding date. I did some digging and found out that since it is on a Friday that it will be a national holiday for many of the people in England. They will be able to line the streets and watch the events as they unfold and celebrate with each other! Lucky!! Who wouldn't want a day off to watch the festivities?? They also wanted to get married in the spring after Easter and before all the busy summer season.
I also noticed that they are getting married on the 29th just like Princess Diana and Prince Charles (July 29, 1981) and if they were still married they would have been married for 29 years!! Also Prince William will turn 29 this year and Kate already turned 29 last month. Coincidence???

Want to be in London for the Royal Wedding?
Its not too late to be in London when the Royal Wedding happens this April! There are plenty of seats open on flights around that time but I'm sure the hotel rooms are going fast. In one article I read it stated that London is going to be crazy during that time but it will be worth the insanity! These are a couple of price comparisons that I found....hope it helps plan your trip!! ;)
British Airways has a Royal Wedding Package round trip from New York from $819 or Chicago for $880. Each for 3 nights in a London Hotel which could start $300 a night. Once you are there some hotels are offering packages within their hotel which can include afternoon tea and 2 tickets to Kensington Palace and start around $1,338. If you really do your research some Londoners will rent their homes to you especially if they are wanting to leave the area during the nuptials although who would really want to!!
p.s. 73 days until the big day and 15 days until my video is due to the today show!!

Royal Update: Wedding Party
So I just read that the wedding party has been announced and that the couple might be doing things a bit differently than most royal weddings. For instance the groom is only having one best man, his brother Prince Harry. Ordinarily a groom has two "supporters" for the position and he felt as if the honor should just be bestowed to his only brother, which I think is sweet! The bride has chosen her sister Pippa Middleton as maid of honor but there is concern amongst royal watchers about her age. Typically girls (as young as 7) are chosen for this honor and the brides sister is 27. Here are some others they have chosen:
Bridesmaids:
Lady Louise Windsor, 7, the daughter of The Earl and Countess of Wessex
Margarita Armstrong-Jones, 8, the daughter of Viscount and Viscountess Linley
Eliza Lopes, the 3-year-old granddaughter of Prince Charles' wife Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall
Grace van Cutsem, 3, a godchild of William's
Page boys (train bearers, ring bearers)
William Lowther-Pinkerton, 10, the son of William's private secretary
Tom Pettifer, 8, another one of William's godchildren
This should be an exciting event with all the children there!

Wacky Wednesday Royal Wedding Update
I don't know if the royal couple appreciate their likeness being made from various food groups or not but I am pretty sure I wouldn't be flattered to have my face made from turkey but it does look more like her then the official coin Prince William approved!

Tuesday Royal Update
81 days until the latest Royal Wedding!
Well today I found out that you can submit a video to the Today show to try to win tickets to London during the time the Royal Wedding is happening. (I got started planning my creative video a few moments ago while eating my lunch.) I have a pretty long list of reasons why they should pick me! (I was going to marry William at one point in my life...that should be enough!) Unfortunately you don't get to see the wedding but being in the city at the same time is totally worth it!

Tuesday Royal Wedding Update
I am obsessed with the Royal Family. Some time ago I was convinced that I would someday marry Prince William and live in London forever! Well I decided that Jake was the one for me and turned William away!!! Well for a bit now I have been updating friends through email on Tuesdays about the Royal Wedding that is happening this coming April 29th and decided to take it to my blog. I usually send links of things I have found online. I hope you are as excited about this wedding as I am! I think I am even going to make myself an amazing hat to wear while I watch the nuptials! Enjoy! (Sorry about the horribly long web address...for some reason it was being stupid!)
